We are casting for our next drag show and YOU are invited to liberate your Altar Ego with us on 6/22.
Our first show, Drag-In Frequency, was the activation of our virtual stage in honor of the closing of the Chinese lunar year of the Dragon. Then the Church Kid Drop Outs lit up the place with a group spell that set fire to the grips of the institution(s) that carry out the bidding of colonialism, patriarchy, & white supremacy.
The theme of our next show is Summer Lovin’, and here is what our producer Tim Mick Raw (aka
) had to say about what we’re casting with this call:Summer Lovin’, is a spell for breaking the curse of heteronormative codependent individualistic love that fuels capitalism.
It’s about the love for self displayed through self-devotion and discipline, creative and spiritual practice, and honest relating. It’s about the love we commit to with those with whom we hope to build sustainable, strategically interdependent, accountable, and generative connection.
It’s about our love to our guides and ancestors, to the land and all it’s beings. It’s about how that very love fuels us to stand up against a rising fascism and refuse to turn away from witnessing, grieving, and naming the violence of this state and all imperialistic forces of this current reality.
I already have chills reading these words from
because I am still integrating the ritual that was Church Kid Drop Outs. Performing in this venue really is an offering to the Soft Power spirits of creativity, connection, care, and change. These drag shows have changed the trajectory of Soft Power itself in ways we are unveiling with each production. Thank you to Tim Mick Raw for stewarding this project and for all the performers who have said yes and debuted so far.If your body is pulling you to the virtual stage, APPLY HERE by end of day Saturday!
With love and soft power,
Luna Sea (aka
)Never done drag? That's okay! We will hold creative care sessions to support you in preparation.
