TLDR: A big thank you to Willa Ace and Soft Power Choir tonight

If you could use it, gaze at this gif, smell the damp woods, and feel roots drop from your body reconnecting you with the soft strength of Earth. Allow yourself to be amazed by the tall trees, lean in to the ferns and the flowers, let the butterflies greet you, and experience an ecosystem in harmony for as many breathes as you need.

At this moment, the only message that feels right is: Thank you / Salamat for staying connected — your energy is a precious resource. The collective energy has been strategically ripened for deeper division and isolation, so it deserves to be celebrated that you’ve chosen connection, even just by reading this message.

The Season of Surrender

You’ve been seeing the word surrender a lot from us lately and that’s not just because of the singing event we were part of in LA a few weeks ago.

Soft Power was actually invited in as collaborators after the event concept for a spiritually-guided musical experience was already in motion and titled Surrender. While we were intrigued by and immediately embraced this theme, nothing could have prepared us for the initiation ahead of us that the spirit of Surrender would bring.

In the most playful but real way, its like the universe took us saying yes to Surrender as enthusiastic consent to “f*ck around and find out” what that word really looks like in practice.

When the Soft Power founding team said yes to this collaboration in July 2023, we similarly gestured to the universe that we were ready to understand why we’ve been called to co-steward Soft Power and where it falls within our greater personal life journeys.

We held virtual care circles, retreated in Grass Valley and Waimānalo, launched our Village in the Sky membership, and gathered for hours every week with the support of consultants and healers to dig deeper into what Soft Power is and can be.

Willa Ace

One of the most notable outcomes from this season of surrender was the departure of Willa Ace from the nucleus team. In addition to being the founding creator that designed Soft Power’s branding and website, Willa brought so much wisdom, integrity, and playfulness to this foundational stage.

Right in line with the shared intention to rise into our most aligned paths together and individually, Willa was called to to fully focus their creative energy on House of Elevasiyá, creating sacred creative spaces for Queer expression and elevation, centering Asian and Pacific Islander diasporas.

This past weekend, HoE brought Divine Tropika to Los Angeles for a one-night multi-sensory ceremonial sacred gathering and it was an unforgettable evening of connection, play, and exploration through art, music, and movement. Soft Power founders Midori and Flo, Choir guide n4than, and Care Immersion alumni Jeanne brought their magic to the evening as well.

HIGHLY HUMAN

has been a source of comfort, hope and strength in trying times for many of us and we encourage everyone to follow their journey and continue supporting their creative expression and leadership. Closing words from Siobhan

Thank you for witnessing us through the journey of building Soft Power. Its not lost on me that we are in a constant state of growth and adjustment and the questions it could raise for our day one supporters.

There is no rule book for how or what to share through unprecedented times, but this community has uplifted us to continue trusting ourselves to try. Its been a perfectionism healing practice to allow myself to show up in real time as is and to be received by you all is a true gift.

So much of this year has been focused on deep listening and surrendering to what the next 4 years and far beyond are asking of us and, on behalf of the team, I’m confident that what Soft Power has been called to enact will be the answer to many of our needs for ongoing creative collective care.
