Good morning community,
Inviting you to join me in a loud exhale and hand on the heart as we step into a new week together.
Our team is still coming down from the pure, liberated joy that was Saturday night’s Drag-In Frequency event. 8 artists took the virtual stage, sharing their stories and offerings to the dragon year through performance and IT. WAS. MAGIC. We’ll be regrouping for the first time since the show today at 10am on Soft Power TV.
I had the pleasure of being an audience member (and hype up the chat / energy bank), taking in the labor of love from the Soft Power team. Special shoutout to Nathaniel and Dr. Kiki who brought this drag show vision to life. Big love to Midori, Flo, Kiki, and Willa who debuted their drag personas, too. Personally, I did not take the stage. In fact, I backed out. Something I thought was a failure until I realized upon reflection that it was a push to be deeper in my personal power by holding off on a new initiation and integrating all of this past year’s instead.
Over the past year, the spirit of the dragon has brought me closer to my personal power, discernment, and understanding of leadership. It also brought friction and fire and a mirror for all of my roughest shadows. The changes necessary have felt terrifying to confront, but the dragon keeps it pushing and I am closing out this lunar year with deep gratitude for the lessons.
It was a gift to witness the ways the Dragon frequency expressed through the performers and there were so many powerful messages channeled in reverence and offering to our personal, shared, and collective ancestors. Shoutout to the Dragcestors for the gift of this art form, especially.
It’s almost time for the Year of the Snake and even more transformation is upon us. To support us all with that, Dr. Kiki and developed Altar Ego — the theme of our programming the next few months. This concept is so juicy and innovative and we can’t wait to share more soon.
